Catholic school students and families raise more than $19,000 through “Coins for Kids”

Coins for Kids Fundraising Challenge

Students and families at 13 Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids raised more than $19,000 for local pro-life efforts this past winter.

The “Coins for Kids” fundraiser supports Grand Rapids Right to Life and local agencies who provide material support to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies. Grand Rapids Right to Life gave baby bottles to each participating school, and then students and families took the bottles home to fill them with spare change.

Participating schools supported “Coins for Kids” in honor of Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 27- Feb. 2.

We’re proud of our students and families for helping provide for the littlest members of our community. Thank you for your generosity!

Additional participating schools were Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Divine Providence Academy, Holy Trinity, Our Lady of Consolation, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Patrick in Parnell, St. Robert, St. Stephen, and West Catholic High School.

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids are an alliance of 31 vibrant learning communities (26 elementary and five high schools) serving more than 6,550 preschool through 12th grade students throughout West Michigan. Our schools inspire young people to grow in Catholic faith and grace, achieve more in school and life, develop creativity and character, and feel welcomed and cherished for their unique gifts. We partner with parents to awaken the whole child to a world of light and life — that grows better and brighter when children reach their potential.
