West Catholic High School receives anonymous $1 million donation

West Catholic in the news

An anonymous donor has generously given $1 million to West Catholic High School in Grand Rapids.

The donation will support ongoing tuition assistance, facility needs, and teachers' classroom supplies and equipment for enhancing the learning experience.

While also including the school in his will, the donor chose to make this gift at a time when he can see its benefits.

"I was raised in a strict Catholic home, and my mother always encouraged me to give back as much as I could," said the donor. "I am doing it for the kids; I want every child that wants a Catholic education to have one."

"It will do so much for the West Catholic community," said West Catholic director of development Jill VanderEnde. "His generosity will impact the students in so many positive ways."

Several local news outlets have reported on the donation. See stories from WZZM 13 here and Mlive here.
