Dear New Families,

Our school WELCOMES you! We want you to celebrate the uniqueness our school has to offer! We have multi-age classrooms that operate in a "learn at your own pace" environment. Following our WINGS model (Welcoming, Individualized, Nurturing, God-centered & Service), our students thrive in math, reading, and science, all while emphasizing God and family.

A few fun facts you should know:

  • We have sports teams. We are the Saints!
  • We have a band for 4th through 8th graders.
  • We are recognized across the United States as a Catholic School of Excellence.

Thank you for your continued support of Divine Providence Academy; we ask that you continue to pray for the success of our school.

May God bless you!

Kate Beuschel
Principal

Mission

As a Catholic academy, we cultivate courageous servants of God by nurturing strengths and promoting leadership through academic and spiritual excellence.

Academics

At Divine Providence Academy we believe in an individualized approach to learning; meeting each student at their just right level. Our small class sizes and faith-based education provide a nurturing environment where all students can succeed. We continue to excel in focusing on individualized education and meeting students at their “just right” level.

Students are encouraged to grow spiritually as well as academically through weekly Mass, adoration, and participation in holy days throughout the year. Divine Providence Academy partners with All Belong to support students with disabilities, and additional 1 on 1 support for students who are learning below grade level.

Faith

At Divine Providence Academy our mission is to cultivate courageous servants of God. We integrate religion into every part of our day. We start our day with our Divine Providence Prayer, learning about a new saint, and taking time to reflect on a daily examination question. Students have opportunities throughout the day to practice the Virtue of the month as well as to spend time at their classroom prayer table. Students lead the community in weekly mass, and we come together to celebrate holy days of obligation and feast days with both campuses. DPA students receive weekly formation in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd from preschool-8th grade. This Montessori inspired program is a hands-on approach to Jesus, prayer and the liturgy.

Students participate in quarterly service projects such as grave cleaning, food and clothing drives, and support Kids Food Basket.

Extracurriculars

At Divine Providence Academy, we strive to enrich the whole child. In addition to core academic classes, students also participate in art, music, physical education, and STEM classes each week. Once in 5th grade, students have the opportunity to participate in band; meeting twice a week to work closely with the band instructor. These students build a strong appreciation for music, and gain responsibility from regular practice.

Divine Providence Academy also participates with GRACEAC (Grand Rapids Area Catholic Elementary Athletic Council) for sports. We even have our own team name, the Saints! There are many different sports that the kids have an opportunity to participate in, such as basketball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, track, football, and soccer.
