Welcome to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School (IHM). We are a preschool-8th grade Catholic school immersed in the teaching of the Catholic Church. IHM strives to develop lifelong learners who are courageous compassionate disciples of Christ.
IHM offers the Disciples and Diplomas Curriculum that has its foundations in the seven Catholic social teachings and the Disciples of Christ Educational Virtues. We strive to ensure that Christ is the center, the beginning, and the end of everything that we do at IHM. Christ is the reason our school exists, and a stronger relationship with Christ is the goal for every student who walks through our doors. As children grow at IHM, their faith, leadership and knowledge grow and develop with them.
As a faith-centered community, we work to encourage and build up each other. Students at IHM have the opportunity to partner with the community, to mentor younger students, as well as to do service outside of the school.
It is an exciting time to be part of Immaculate Heart of Mary. We invite anyone, whether you are single, have not yet had children, have a child ready to enter school, or have children who have graduated and left home to come tour our parish school and see God working in the lives of students who are becoming the hands and feet of Christ.
Mission
Immersed in the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary School is dedicated to providing excellent spiritual and academic formation in the development of well-rounded students centered in Christ.
Academics
Immaculate Heart of Mary School MAPS standardized test scores are consistently above the national average and diocesan levels. IHM students also share rich academic and leadership traditions with Catholic Central High School, where the fruits of their formative years here, blossom there. IHM is heavily represented in Catholic Central's graduating top ten, Honor Roll, National Honor Society, Peer Ministry, class officers and other leadership positions.
Faith
“In everything we do, if we put the Lord God first, He will direct us and crown our efforts with success.” (variation ~ Proverbs 3:6) At Immaculate Heart of Mary School, we begin each school day, each class, practice, game, meeting, each gathering invoking God's guidance--resting assured of his blessing on what we are about to undertake. Our motto, "Disciples first, then Diplomas," spells out that proper order. It is our goal, by the time a student graduates from IHM school, to have done all we could to lead them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Extracurriculars
Youth Eucharistic Adoration (YEA), EDGE Night Youth Ministry, and our Divine Mercy Kid's Club anchor the extracurricular offerings at Immaculate Heart of Mary School. IHM offers some of the finest and largest collection of athletic facilities among all elementary schools and likewise, enjoys a gilded sports tradition. Boys and girls in 5-8th grade have the opportunity to grow into fine Catholic athletes participating in sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, lacrosse, and baseball. IHM's science lab is the training ground for our award-winning Science Olympiad team, the Fighting Squids. Three levels of children's choir, two levels of band, and the annual all-school Christmas musical proves God gave the gift of music for each of us to develop and enjoy!
