Corpus Christi Catholic School was founded in 1999 as collaborative educational mission of St. Francis de Sales and Our Lady of the Lake parishes. We are a diverse school community committed to celebrating our Catholic faith and culture.

We believe that the spiritual element is a critical part of a child's development.

We believe that each child can learn and has a unique contribution to make to the mission of the Church.

We believe that frequent and open communication between home and school is critical to each child's success.

We believe that Catholic education can serve as an evangelical function for our Church.

We ask you to consider the blessing of a Catholic education for your child.

Mission

Corpus Christi Catholic School welcomes all children, enriches their knowledge, nurtures their faith and builds their character in a Christian environment.

Academics

Corpus Christi School immerses its students in daily interactive and comprehensive curriculum. This high-quality education platform is built from a base of Common Core standards.

Corpus Christi School uses Pearson Interactive Science Curriculum, which supports current STEM standards for grades K-8. Our teachers are certified for this curriculum through programming at Van Andel Science Institute. The Language Arts program is based off of Pearson's Reading Street Series for grades K-3 and becomes literature-based learning in grades 4-8.

Corpus Christi has a full computer lab with additional technology access to iPads and Chromebooks. Our teaching staff has introduced a partial focus on coding during the students' technology time.

Corpus Christi School offers K-8 Spanish Class with an additional option to choose Spanish Immersion as your child's program. Spanish Immersion is available in Preschool - 3rd grades...with additional grades available as the program progresses forward. Our school offers Bilingual RTI services to fully enhance the experience of every child in need of additional learning assistance. Our staff is complimented with certified ELL (English Language Learners) teachers. We follow state mandates for State and National WIDA testing. This testing allows our staff to assess proficiency in English with our non-native English speaking students.

Certified teachers run our Homework Club which is available Tuesday - Thursday every week.

Corpus Christi has a unique relationship with Hope College. Students who qualify are able to participate in their CASA or Step Up programs which offer additional learning assistance to children in need. Hope College also offers PATH. This program allows for advanced students to take academic challenge level courses in literature composition, biology, and pre-algebra thru geometry. Our students often test out of high school courses following their participation in PATH!

Faith

Corpus Christi's staff is the reason for our students' deep faith. The way in which they immerse curriculum with the teachings of our Catholic faith is extraordinary. Daily reflections of our faith can be witnessed continually in classes outside of religion, in the lunch room, on the playground, and even simply walking in the halls.

Our students start their day in the school chapel. Daily chapel provides the students and staff a start to their day which focuses on giving glory to Christ in all that they will do. Special prayers are said for our community, allowing the children to take special notice of what is going on in the lives of those around them. Our principal leads the school body in contemplating the monthly Virtues in Christ.

Our middle school students participate in faith retreats throughout the year and focus on service to others in our community, our parishes, at home, and by working with younger students in the school.

Extracurriculars

Corpus Christi School offers students an array of extracurricular activities to round out their education. We participate in GRACEAC sports: soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country, cheerleading, and tennis. We have active Boy and Girl Scout groups, a drama club, liturgical choir, and Science Olympiad team.

We are blessed to have many different activities put on by our wonderful parent volunteer organization such as: Las Posadas, daddy daughter and mother son events, Chan's martial arts classes, parade of lights, and many more.

One of the greatest assets to our before and after school programming is our open gym and library options available every morning. These no-charge options are a great way for kids to get their blood pumping or delve into a good book!
