St. Charles Borromeo School Building

Welcome to St. Charles School! As soon as you walk through our doors, you will find a strong Catholic identity resonating throughout the building. Faith is our focus; Christ is our guide; Catholic tradition is our history and our future.

Faith development is our primary focus, and from there, all else springs forth: strong academics; critical thinking; excellent study skills; personal responsibility; social justice; selfless love.

Our teachers are dedicated to educating the whole student; body, mind and soul, to help them be successful in the classroom and beyond. Students learn prayer and service right alongside math and reading. They reach out to those in need through service projects and monthly charity drives; they learn early and often that helping others is the highest calling of all.

Dedicated teachers and volunteers, along with strong parish support and benefactors all work together to keep the gift of Catholic education alive in Greenville, Michigan. You will find a family atmosphere at St. Charles, and we would love for you to be a part of it.

May God bless you!

Mission

St. Charles Borromeo School is a Catholic community of faith, academics and service for all. Our school is dedicated to: teaching the message of Jesus; building the Christian community; providing a quality education; participating in Catholic worship through instruction, example and environment; and serving those in need.

Academics

St. Charles School prides itself on its rigorous academics, all to prepare students for their futures. In addition to the core subjects of math, religion, language arts, science, social studies, and handwriting, we have music, Spanish, technology, and physical education. Fifth- through eighth-graders may also participate in band or orchestra at the local public school.

Highly dedicated teachers reach out to all learners to help everyone be successful. Teachers are learners, too, and share best practices with students, as well as with each other. Twenty-first century learning is an important part of the day, but our technology is used only to enhance our curriculum. Middle school students have 1:1 computing with MacBooks and Chromebooks and our 25-station iMac computer lab is available to all students. Each classroom is equipped with a Smart board and document camera.

Faith

All students at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School are immersed in opportunities to deepen their faith. Students and staff meet daily for prayer offering intentions for those in need. In addition, students attend weekly all-school Mass serving as lectors, musicians, altar servers, greeters, and ushers. We carry on rich, Catholic traditions such as praying the Stations of the Cross, praying the rosary especially during May and October and celebrating May crowning. Students also attend eucharistic adoration each Wednesday. Additionally, students demonstrate Christ's compassion by collecting monthly donations to support Catholic charities and local causes.

Extracurriculars

St. Charles students are provided myriad extracurricular opportunities to enrich their lives beyond the classroom. These include: athletic teams, such as basketball, track and field and volleyball; Geography Club; French Club; Sewing Club; choral concert; plays; reading night; school carnival; regularly scheduled family movie nights and enrichments. Eighth-grade students are welcome to participate in the parish Youth Group.
