We’re collaborating with the National Catholic Educational Association to showcase everything that makes Catholic schools special! It’s in celebration of Discover Catholic Schools Week, now through Nov. 14.
Catholic schools give students a solid foundation for future success. Nationwide, Catholic high schools have a graduation rate of more than 99%, greater than any other type of school. We see that high achievement among our five Catholic high schools right here in the Diocese of Grand Rapids, where the class of 2020 demonstrated a 99% graduation rate. Plus, Catholic school graduates are 20% more likely to earn a bachelor’s degree! (Source: Owyang, Michael T. & E. Katarina Vermann, October 2012)
Our students’ success depends on the fact that our schools are centered on Jesus Christ. Because students are nurtured in their relationship with God every day, they know that He has created them for a purpose and has equipped them to live that purpose out.

Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids are an alliance of 31 vibrant learning communities (26 elementary and five high schools) serving more than 6,000 preschool through 12th grade students throughout West Michigan. Our schools inspire young people to grow in Catholic faith and grace, achieve more in school and life, develop creativity and character, and feel welcomed and cherished for their unique gifts. We partner with parents to awaken the whole child to a world of light and life — that grows better and brighter when children reach their potential.
