More than 6,340 students are receiving an outstanding educational experience at 31 Catholic schools across the Diocese of Grand Rapids. These 26 elementary and five high schools are welcoming learning communities where young people have daily opportunities to excel in class, participate in enriching cocurricular activities, and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.
You have a special opportunity to support this educational ministry during Celebrate Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 26-Feb. 1. In conjunction with the National Catholic Educational Association, our Catholic schools are participating in a 24-hour giving event called “Many Gifts, One Nation”, beginning at noon on Jan. 28. We invite you to participate in this event with a financial gift.
Supporting Catholic education supports young people, our Church, and our communities:
- Nationwide, Catholic high schools have a graduation rate of 99.2% -- more than any other type of school (Broughman, S.P., Swain, N.L., 2013; Stillwell, R. and Sable, J., 2017)
- Millennials who attended Catholic schools are 7x-8x more likely to attend Sunday Mass (Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate, 2015)
- Catholic school graduates are more likely to vote (Dee, T., 2005)
To participate in “Many Gifts, One Nation” and support the diocesan Office of Catholic schools, visit https://factsmgtadmin.com/give/appeal/sWYqFYa. The “Give” button on that page will be live from noon on Jan. 28 through noon on Jan. 29. Until then, make sure to bookmark that page and mark your calendar to donate during the event.
You will also be able to search the “Many Gifts, One Nation” database for specific schools if you have one (or two) you’d like to support. Learn more about the day of giving on the NCEA website at this link.
We are grateful to everyone whose support makes Catholic education possible.
“Many Gifts, One Nation” is sponsored by the NCEA and FACTS, a provider of administration, financial management and other services for K-12 schools.
