Bishop Walkowiak celebrates Mass for Holy Trinity Catholic School, attends May crowning

May Crowning at Holy Trinity

Bishop David Walkowiak joined students and families at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Comstock Park on May 10, 2017, to celebrate Mass. He also attended the school's May crowning, the springtime devotion of placing a crown of flowers on a statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Additionally, he joined students and families at a VIP brunch afterward.

First communicants and confirmandi had the honor of serving in the May crowning, placing a rosary in Mary's hands and the crown on her head. The statue used for the May crowning was a statue of Our Lady of Fatima, which was originally part of a shrine built in 1952 on a parishioner's property near Holy Trinity parish. The shrine was later brought to the parish.
