Catholic school faculty, administrators collaborate to explore classroom learning labs

Faculty, admins collaborate on learning labs

Faculty and administrators from Catholic schools across the Diocese of Grand Rapids gathered on Friday, October 27, 2017, for professional development focused on classroom learning labs.

Classroom learning labs are a technique for teachers to have colleagues observe their instruction and provide feedback. They provide an opportunity for educators to experience in-depth, professional thinking and learning within a collaborative community.

More than 400 educators participated in the professional development sessions, hosted at West Catholic High School. Consultants Ann Hyde and Nelli Koster gave introductions to classroom learning labs. Many Catholic school administrators and faculty members led break-out sessions for their colleagues in particular content areas.
