Only 4 hours remain for Giving Tuesday and Catholic schools are so blessed! On our diocesan donation website (which guarantees our ministries, parishes, and schools get 100% of their donations collected today), 22 of our 31 schools have received over $50,000 and that number is expected to grow yet tonight with your help.
Sponsored by the Catholic Foundation of West Michigan, there are still 3 “challenges” that would provide extra grant money to our schools:
- The 'Where 2 or 3(0) are Gathered' challenge grant awards the first 12 ministries or project that receive 30 unique donors. Only 6 of those grants remain.
- The final challenge of the night, 'The Chosen One,' runs from 11 – 11:59 p.m. Any entity that receives a donation through the diocesan website during that time will be entered into a random drawing. One winner will be awarded a $500 grant.
- The ‘Be Fruitful and Multiply’ challenge will also be decided by midnight. The top three entities with the most donors within these 48 hours will be awarded a grant. 1st ($1,250), 2nd ($1,000), and 3rd ($750) place grants will be awarded.
Many of our schools have selected projects to fund this Giving Tuesday. Check out a few of them here:
- Divine Providence Academy (Conklin & Ravenna) is seeking donations to update and buy new playground equipment for the youngest among us
- Holy Spirit Catholic School (Grand Rapids) plans to rejuvenate the gym with a new stage, LED lights, paint, padding, and sound totaling $55,000
- Holy Trinity Catholic School (Comstock Park) is raising funds for new reading textbooks
- St. John Vianney Catholic School (Wyoming) would like to raise funds for new campus signage
- Sacred Heart Academy (Grand Rapids) is raising $10,000 for their Palestrina500 music festival
