Rosary of Balloons

Students at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic School in Grand Rapids honored the Blessed Virgin Mary on May 9, 2017, by sending a rosary heavenward - literally. They sent a rosary made of balloons aloft into the clear, blue sky.

Releasing the rosary balloons was part of VIP Day at IHM, with the theme of "Our Mother Mary and Me." The rosary, made of balloons, lifted the merits of Mass, Mary songs, student essays about Mary and prayers up to heaven through a perfect blue sky.

"On days when the sky is all blue like this, think of it as being wrapped in a hug from Blessed Mother, her blue mantle surrounding you," said one parent.
