Rev. Mark Przybysz, pastor of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Community in Grand Rapids, is pleased to announce the hiring of Mrs. Jenny Pudelko as school principal. She begins her new role on July 1.

Mrs. Pudelko joins St. Anthony following 12 years of experience with National Heritage Academies, where she worked as instructional dean of students for 3rd-5th grade and for young 5’s-2nd grade, and as a resource room/skills support teacher. She earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology/special education and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Grand Valley State University; she also holds certifications in elementary education and administration, with additional endorsements in emotional and cognitive impairment.

“We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Pudelko as our new school principal,” said Father Przybysz. “She brings with her an excitement and enthusiasm for Catholic education, and more than a decade of classroom and administrative experience. Mrs. Pudelko is an active member of the parish, having volunteered for seven years in our youth ministry, four years as a catechist in religious education, along with presently serving on the parish’s tithing committee.”

The current principal, Ms. Julie Whelan, will retire following more than 30 years in Catholic education, including 14 years as principal of St. Anthony.

Offering his congratulations, Father Przybysz said, “St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Community has been blessed to have Ms. Whelan as our school principal. She has exhibited exceptional educational and spiritual leadership in her ministry, and we wish her well in retirement.”

"I’m confident Mrs. Pudelko will provide the leadership and energy to take St. Anthony to the next level,” said Ms. Whelan. “I am praying for her success!"

“This position is truly a blessing,” said Mrs. Pudelko. “This is the perfect opportunity to combine my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic, faith-filled educator with my range of experiences. As an active member of the parish, I am thrilled to serve the community in a new capacity as school principal. I look forward to getting to know the students, families and staff in the coming weeks!”
