A team of dedicated volunteers will assemble at St. Robert Catholic School in Ada on Saturday, May 18, to build a new playground for students -- and they aim to do it in just one day!
Community members and supporters are gathering bright and early to install the playground equipment and safety surfacing. They'll work until everything is put together, rain or shine. The team effort is just one example of the family feeling that's characteristic of our Catholic schools.
Contractor Great Lakes Recreation is providing consultation and supervision to ensure the playground meets safety requirements. Workers have been busy preparing the site for Satuday's building blitz. See the photos below for a peek at what they've been up to so, or visit the St. Robert Catholic School Facebook Page at this link.
St. Robert Catholic School opened this academic year with preschool and kindergarten classes, and 1st grade will be added this coming fall. An additional grade will be added every year, through 8th grade.
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids are an alliance of 31 vibrant learning communities (26 elementary and five high schools) serving more than 6,550 preschool through 12th grade students throughout West Michigan. Our schools inspire young people to grow in Catholic faith and grace, achieve more in school and life, develop creativity and character, and feel welcomed and cherished for their unique gifts. We partner with parents to awaken the whole child to a world of light and life — that grows better and brighter when children reach their potential.
