Best friends Langley and Emily are kindergartners at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School in Grand Rapids. The five-year-old girls have bonded with each other over many of the typical things which bring young friends together – but they’ve also been there for each other through battles with the serious illnesses of leukemia and dysautonomia.
The story of their friendship caught the attention of Make-A-Wish and “Good Morning America”. The girls and their families were invited to New York City to be in-studio guests on the TV show on December 19, 2019. Live on the air, they and their families were surprised with a special wish come true. Watch the video at this link to see what happened.
Back in Grand Rapids, St. Anthony students gathered for an assembly to watch their classmates’ “GMA” appearance. The school community has been offering support for the girls in various ways, including things like prayers and making cards. Their watch party was one more show of support for these brave young friends. Representatives from Make-A-Wish Michigan were there, too, telling the students about their mission to encourage children facing critical illnesses.
Make-A-Wish Michigan produced a fun video recapping the day's events. Watch it at this link.
Plus, WOOD TV covered the watch party. See their story at this link.

Enjoy your trip to Disney World this coming spring, Langley and Emily! We are praying for you!
